Setting an Expiration for a Flow

To automatically remove contacts who become inactive within a flow, you can establish an expiration period.

Begin by accessing your flow editor, then select the ☰ menu icon and choose “Edit”.

From the dropdown menu, specify your preferred expiration timeframe.

You can configure the system to expire inactive contacts anywhere from 5 minutes to 2 weeks after they enter the flow. Please note: if you do not manually set an expiration period, flows will automatically expire after 3 days by default.

Session Expirations

Session expiration establishes an overall time limit for flow sessions. The session commences when a contact first enters a flow. Since flows may contain recursive loops or child flows that repeatedly return contacts to parent flows, session expirations prevent contacts from remaining indefinitely within a flow. For this reason, TextIt limits flow session activity to a maximum of 30 days per contact.

‘Wait for Response’ Timeouts

For situations where contacts become unresponsive during a flow, you can implement individual response timeouts. This feature enables you to address inactivity directly through customized follow-up actions.
