Delete a channel (permanent removal)
If you just need the essentials, follow this quick path:
- Open Workspace Settings → Channels → open the channel page
- Use ☰ / ⋮ menu → Delete → confirm
- Verify impact (sending stops, routing changes, queued sends may still deliver)
Delete is for permanent removal—if you only need a pause, disable the channel instead.
Step-by-Step Process
1
Open the channel you want to remove
- Go to Workspace Settings (gear icon).
- Click Channels in the left-hand menu.
- Click the channel you want to remove to open its page.

2
Delete the channel
- On the channel page, click the ☰ menu (top-right).
- Select Delete.
- Confirm the deletion.

⚠️
Warning: Deleting a channel is intended to be permanent. If you only want to stop sending temporarily, disable the channel instead.

Understand what changes after deletion
- Flows can no longer send via the deleted channel.
- If the deleted channel was the only suitable route for some contacts, new sends to those contacts may fail until you add another channel or update URNs.
- Previously queued sends may still deliver depending on provider-side queuing.
⚙️
Technical Detail: Deleting removes the channel integration from the workspace. Delivery outcomes can still be influenced by provider queues for messages sent before deletion.

Common Issues & Quick Fixes
I don’t see the Delete option
Problem: The channel menu doesn’t show Delete.
Fix:
- Make sure you opened the channel page (not just the Channels list).
- Confirm you have the right permissions (Admin access may be required).
I removed the channel but still see messages delivering
Problem: Some deliveries still happen after deletion.
Fix:
- Check the Outbox: messages already queued by the provider may still send.
- Re-test by sending a new message after removal.
Messages fail after deletion
Problem: Sends start failing for some contacts.
Fix:
- This is expected if the deleted channel was the only suitable channel for those contacts.
- Add another channel, or update contacts so they have a reachable URN for an enabled channel.
