Changing the Default Flow Language

When creating a new flow, you can select a default language. This ensures that contacts without a specified language preference will automatically receive messages in this chosen language.
To enable multilingual translations for your flow, you must first add those languages to your workspace. Once added, you can proceed to translate the flow.
What if you need to modify the default language after the flow has been created?
First, ensure all translations are prepared. Suppose English was initially set as the default, but you now wish to use French. After translating all nodes into French, click the ‘French’ option:
This will switch all nodes to display the French translations. A new tab will appear on the right side of the editor—this is your translation management panel. Click to expand it:
Action nodes marked in yellow require translation. Click each to proceed.
A percentage indicator displays your translation progress. In our example, only 10% has been completed.
Once all translations are finished, and you want to set French as the new default, click the ‘Use as default language’ button:
You will be prompted to confirm the change to French:
That’s all! The flow’s default language is now French. Contacts without a preset language preference will receive the flow in French. Additionally, if a translation is unavailable for a contact’s preferred language, they will also receive the flow in French. In the example above, since Arabic has not been translated, even contacts with Arabic set as their preference would receive the flow in French. Therefore, ensure all necessary languages are fully translated.
