FAQ

What is GDPR?

How does this help me?

GDPR provides specific rights to EU citizens. The most significant is the right to erasure, meaning you can request permanent deletion of your account and all associated personal information. Companies must comply with such requests promptly. Additional rights include objecting to the use of your personal data for marketing purposes—rest assured, this is not our practice here. You can, and should, familiarize yourself with these rights here.

How does this affect my account?

In truth, we have always prioritized data security. Following GDPR’s implementation, we enhanced our practices to further align with the regulation’s principles:

  • A reduced data retention policy for live data, where only the most recent 90 days of information is stored in our primary database.

  • Availability of downloadable archival data in machine-readable formats to facilitate data portability.

  • The option to permanently erase a specific contact’s record from our systems.

  • Complete account deletion upon user request.

What if I’m not a citizen of the EU?

In that case, you can appreciate how EU regulations have elevated global standards for data treatment. To comply with the law, most internet-based companies have chosen to extend these GDPR principles to all users worldwide. Although not legally required to apply these standards to non-EU citizens, companies should do so—and we should advocate for this practice where it is lacking.

I’m still not sure what this all means.
