Disabling a Channel

Need to temporarily pause message delivery through one of your channels? You can now deactivate specific channels individually.

Choosing to disable a channel, instead of deleting it, allows you to maintain all its configurations and conversation history. Alternatively, you may opt to remove the channel entirely.

Deactivating Your Channel

Navigate to your workspace settings and locate the ‘Channels’ section in the left navigation menu. Select the desired channel and choose ‘Edit’ from the dropdown menu:

A configuration window will appear where you can simply uncheck the ‘Active’ option:

As explained beneath the checkbox, once a channel is deactivated, it becomes unavailable for sending communications to contacts. Any incoming messages destined for that channel will be automatically archived. If a contact’s sole URN is associated with this inactive channel, their messages will not be processed and will return a “No suitable channel available” error.

Important: Messages currently waiting in the Outbox will NOT be interrupted and will dispatch successfully.
